Austin Stone Easter

I worked on a looping background for the Austin Stone Community Church's Easter service at the Frank Erwin Center. The concept was that the "rays" represented what Christ went through during the Easter weekend. First, they assemble from the ground into a "crown of thorns" of sorts. But these thorns quickly turn into the shine of his real crown. And finally they explode into the sky to represent the resurrection. And then it loops.

ZIh Day Six: Il Mare

Thursday, March 31
We went to a restaurant called 'Il Mare', and we got to see the best view of the bay as the sun went down. Such a beautiful place.

Zih Day Five: Mexican Fiesta

Wednesday, March 30
Here's the view of our hotel from the beach.
Traveling songsman
In an earlier post I promised a photo of the scary guns that all the cops in Zih carried. Don't mess with those guys.

We went to a "Mexican Fiesta" at a big hotel in Ixtapa. It was half dinner half show. The food was OK, but the churros were made up close and personal and were great.

A very odd mascot man came out to do a dance. He was semi-scary.
The cutest moment of the night belonged to this little guy.

Cruise Video

Here's a quick video of our cruise night. It's fun to remember things in motion.

Zih Day Four: Sunset Cruise

Tuesday, March 29 A new day, a new set of flowers.
This one goes out to my dad, who gets to see all of his grandchildren this week.

Biggest fish either of us had ever seen.
Massive.
Taking my pretty wife on a sunset cruise tonight.

There's our boat!
Lighthouse.

I've been reading 'The Count of Monte Cristo' and the cliffs reminded me of the movie.
Our first view of Ixtapa.
The hotel Las Brisas in Ixtapa. Created by none other than Ricardo Legorreta, who I studied at A&M.

Our driver, who seemed to know a lot about the area.

This might be the best picture we've taken together since our wedding. Love this.
The driver set these up for us.

With the way the sun was going down, it looked like this cave was glowing.

Goodbye sun.

I learned that if you put a lot old women on a cruise with drinks, awful dancing can and will happen. It also helps if some of the women are actually insane.
On our walk back, there was a little show that a school was putting on with kids doing different dances. It was fun to see the community out supporting their kids.
