Ben Savaiko Baptism

Wednesday June 22
Ben wanted to get baptized but works on Sundays and so was unable to do it when the Village normally does their baptisms. And so, as home group leader I got to perform the awesome duty of baptizing Ben!

This was my first time ever baptizing anyone, but luckily it isn't very hard to dunk someone underwater.

It was an honor.

Cumin-Glazed Ribs with Avocado-Pineapple Salsa

I made these ribs that may be my new favorite. They were spicy but with this sweet avocado-pineapple salsa on top of it. Ribs always seem worth the hard work.

Melting the Spice Rack

Sometime in April
We had flea problems (we don't even have pets) for a little while and so we had to bug bomb our place a couple times. When we do that, we put some things in places we normally don't put things. For example we put our knives, cutting boards, and spice rack in the oven. Well, a day after bombing the house, I was coming home from work and I told Alli to preheat the oven because I was bringing home an oven baked pizza. She turns it on and about 5-10 minutes later realizes that everything was still inside the oven! Amazingly, the knives and cutting boards were ok, but the spice rack did NOT make it out safely.

General Tso's Chicken

I made General Tso's Chicken a while back. It's nerve racking anytime I have to fry anything. There's something about the popping that scares the crap out of me.

Easter Family Pictures

Set up my tripod for Easter to take pictures on a timer. I feel like taking pictures this way creates more life in the photos than just saying "cheese" to a photographer. Here's a few from the sequence I took.
